Not a white transit for once

transit.jpg

For anyone living in a hidey hole today is a unique experience in your life time. It is nearly the last chance you will have to see the transit of venus. No this is not a new multi purpose van from Ford but the time when Venus passes infront of the sun in an eclipse type fashion. I attempted projecting the image through binoculars and using a pinhole setup but failed miserably. I ended up watching it streaming live over the net and even though it’s quite small on my screen it is no less impressive.
I have seen people on the roof at work trying with bits of card and people on the street who have attached their binoculars to a pole! But here in comfort of my desk out of the sweltering weather is probably the best way to watch.
